The Role

We’re looking for a strong product designer to help millions of people have fun, learn, and excel. You will work with the VP of Product (as well as content experts, engineers, and analysts) to solve business problems through design.

You should be passionate about designing simple, elegant user interfaces. You should be excited about the progress and potential of the Brilliant product. And of course, you should love making things beautiful. If you sweat the pixel-perfect details and have a strong understanding of composition, balance, symmetry, and whitespace, we’d like to hear from you!

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  • Help develop the expanding brand language within the organization
  • Craft visual systems that are coherent and simple
  • Meticulously organize hierarchies on desktop and mobile
  • Work closely across teams to elevate ideas
  • Translate wireframes into finished designs

 

This is you

Our requirements for this position:

  • 3+ years experience on web and/or mobile product teams
  • Are a design nerd in & out of the office
  • You push your work until all details are attended to
  • Are a systems-thinker and are able to extrapolate and extend shared patterns and behaviors
  • An amiable teammate
  • Comfortable meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Desired (but not required):

  • Have a strong graphic design or illustration portfolio
  • Understanding of teenage science nerds / you once were a teenage nerd
  • Cool mobile native design work
